In the design world the buzz word of the summer is NeoCon. This annual event is the leading industry event for furniture, materials, and textiles. NeoCon houses companies relating to the design industry in commercial, healthcare, education, public space, hospitality, retail, and government. As if the designers of VIP don’t already look forward to this creative exposition each year, our vendors and reps happily remind us of new exciting product designs that we can't wait to get our hands on. NeoCon is where the “sneak peaks” begin the process of a tactical inspiring design.
The place that Vertically Integrated Projects calls home is where design industry experts come from all over to explore the new trends and latest styles housed in the Merchandise Mart in Chicago, IL. The high energy professional atmosphere makes it easy to circulate from floor to floor soaking everything in and cultivating inspirational designs. With business professionals having so much in common, one of the greatest benefits is networking with old industry companions and making new connections. VIP designers paid a lot of attention to detail. Here is what they had to say about the show.
Meranda Edwards – Senior Interior Designer
“We picked up on a mid-century modern vibe. The overall palette seemed colorful with fun geometrical patterns. We also took notice to a few whimsical patterns as well. It was a great time at NeoCon 2019. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year!”
Carmen Pagan – Senior Interior Designer
“Less is more. A transition from less bulky furniture to smaller modular pieces, petite lounge chairs, and ottomans make a public space seem bigger allowing guests to navigate with ease. Don’t be afraid of neutrals. Shades of grey, black, white, and beige layered with textured or a dynamic print creates a sophisticated look.”
Chris Procter – Interior Designer
“Bring the outdoors in. Outdoor greenery incorporated gives an interior space an inviting approach. Add a pop of color. Walking from floor to floor I noticed that pops of color were prevalent everywhere. Weather it was a neon sign or upholstered chairs it was all very eye catching. Every showroom floor had a sense of life and energy.”
Ashley Romano – Project Manager
“I’ve always had a particular liking to the mid-century modern style and I love seeing how contemporary and functional it look in all design categories.”
“I noticed many twists and plays on the 2019 color of the year “Living Coral”. This color showed up in textures, upholstery, panels, and many other design textiles. It felt very sophisticated but lively at the same time.”
Vertically Integrated Projects would like to personally thank all our vendors and reps for having us out to the show. We welcome all new connections we’ve made this year. Thank you for your continued support of VIP becoming a leading hospitality industry expert.
